Yoghurt Life · last updated 10 September 2026

The short version. Yoghurt Life does not collect anything about you. There is no account, no sign-up, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. What you save stays on your phone, and you can delete all of it from inside the app.

What the app stores

Everything below is kept on your device, in the app's own storage. None of it is sent anywhere, and we cannot see any of it.

What the app does not do

The backup in your iCloud

The app keeps a copy of your bowls in your own iCloud Drive, under your Apple Account, using your storage. It is one file, called Yoghurt Life backup.json, and you can see it in the Files app. It holds your saved bowls, your favourites, any ingredients you added yourself and your settings. Nothing else.

We cannot read it. It is not sent to us, it is not stored by us, and there is no server of ours involved at any point. It goes from your phone to your iCloud and back.

You can turn it off at any time: You → Back up to iCloud. Turning it off stops new copies being written and leaves the copy you already have alone.

Deleting the app does not delete this file. That is deliberate, because it is what lets a new phone have your bowls back. If you want it gone, see Deleting everything below.

Checking for an update

At most once a day, the app asks Apple's public App Store lookup service which version of Yoghurt Life is currently on sale, so it can tell you if yours is out of date. The request contains the app's own store number and nothing else: no identifier, no account, nothing about you or your bowls. Apple sees the request the same way it sees any visit to the App Store. If it fails, or you are offline, the app simply says nothing.

Links out of the app

Three buttons hand a web address to your phone to open. Nothing about you is attached to any of them, and you never have to tap any of them.

Opening a link is your phone visiting a page, not the app sending anything. We are not told that you tapped it.

Deleting everything

Open the app, go to You, and tap Delete everything. That removes every saved bowl, every favourite, every ingredient you added and all of your settings from the phone, immediately and permanently.

If you have a backup, that screen also offers Also delete my iCloud copy. It is off unless you turn it on, because most people erasing a phone want their bowls back on the next one. Turn it on and the iCloud file is deleted first, before anything on the phone; if it cannot be reached, nothing at all is deleted and the app tells you so, rather than leaving you half erased and believing otherwise.

Deleting the app from your phone removes everything on the phone. It does not remove the copy in your iCloud. To remove that, either use the switch above before you delete the app, or delete the file yourself in the Files app under iCloud Drive.

Children

Yoghurt Life is suitable for all ages and collects no information from anybody, including children. The backup described above is written to the account holder's own iCloud and is never seen by us.

Where the nutrition figures come from

Calories and other nutrition figures are taken from McCance and Widdowson's The Composition of Foods Integrated Dataset, published by Public Health England and used under the Open Government Licence v3.0; from manufacturers' own back-of-pack declarations; and from USDA FoodData Central. They are worked out from the weight you enter and are a good guide, not a measurement of the food in front of you.

Not medical advice

Yoghurt Life gives you information. It does not give medical, dietary or health advice and it is not a substitute for a doctor or a registered dietitian. Speak to one before making decisions about your health.

Changes to this policy

If the app ever starts doing something this page does not describe, this page will be updated before that version is released, and the date at the top will change.
